Humankind was created for fellowship with God as written in I Corinthians 1:9
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
God seeks true worshippers and those who seek to worship must do so in spirit and in truth as stated in. – John 4:23-24
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
When we faithfully serve God and worship Him in spirit and in truth, then we become His “jewels,” His “precious treasure as stated in. – Malachi 3:17
“And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.”
True Worship of God must proceed from our hearts, as the prophet Isaiah declares. – Isaiah 29:13
“Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men”
God is not impressed with our ritualism, sacrifices or long prayers when we worship Him. The acceptance of our worship to God depends on: The purity of our hearts, our Righteousness, our Humility, our Reverence of Him and if we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth!
We must worship God in unity with other believers as written in Acts 4:24 “with one accord” in willingness (2 Chronicles 29:30) and “with gladness” We ought to worship God with musical instruments and singing (Ephesians 5:19)
God does not dwell in temples made with hands but rather God’s place of habitation is within His people (Psalms 22:3). The Christian church is the house of God as the Apostle Peter writes in. – 1 Peter 2:5
“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”
Christians who are filled with the Holy Spirit form the spiritual body of Christ! To the true believer, worship is not an obligation but the continual lifting up of one`s heart and spirit to God. When we finally get to heaven, we will be worshipping God for all eternity as stated in the Book of Revelations. – Revelation 7:15
“Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.”
